LGBT Youth Scotland are inviting supporters, allies and young people to join them on 22nd June 2019 at Pride Edinburgh to celebrate and mark 50 years since the Stonewall uprisings in 1969. It is also LGBT Youth Scotland’s 30th birthday year so there will be extra surprises on the day.
To join LGBT Youth Scotland on the Pride march, meet at Parliament Green in front of the Scottish Parliament at 11.30am. LGBT Youth Scotland will have a branded float, so you won't be able to miss us!
You can also join LGBT Youth Scotland in the Youth Space upstairs at Potterrow from 1pm to 5pm. The Youth Space will be safe and inclusive for LGBTI young people aged 13 – 25 years and their friends and allies.
An Open mic stage will be hosted by REEL Youth Media and Totally Sound. Additional activities will include stalls, face-painting, badge making, c:card, temporary tattoos and other creative and interactive activities for young people.
LGBT Youth Scotland are delighted to be supported by Edinburgh Dungeons, Baillie Gifford and Pride Edinburgh.
Stuart Jarman, General Manager at The Edinburgh Dungeon said: “We are proud to support Edinburgh Pride and especially LGBT Youth Scotland with their Youth Space at this year’s event. Through supporting the work of LGBT Youth Scotland we share a common commitment with the Pride movement to promoting diversity and inclusivity and providing a safe and welcoming environment for young LGBTI people and their allies to grow and thrive.”
If any young people would like to perform in the youth space, please contact our youth worker Nigel in advance to book a slot.
