Do you work in the Care Sector or with care experienced young people? Do you want to know more about LGBT young people’s experiences of care and how you can be a strong ally? Then our Youth Commission on LGBT Young People’s Experiences of Care would like to invite you to the Digital Launch of their new film resource.
The film has been created by LGBT care experienced young people and raises awareness of their experiences of the care system and key recommendations for change and is based on the findings from consultations with LGBT care experienced young people and with professionals across the care sector.
Join two members of the Youth Commission and LGBT Youth Scotland staff to find out about Youth Commission and their key achievements and to get a first look at their film resource. The young people and staff will then be on hand to answer any questions.
We are particularly keen to engage Policy Leads and Heads of Service from social work; public and third sector care providers and advocacy and rights-based services.
No more than 2 people from any one organisation may attend the digital launch event and spaces will be allocated to ensure a broad range of organisations are able to take part.
Please complete our online form to express an interest in attending. Places will be allocated to ensure a mix of professional disciplines are able to attend. Save the date in your calendar and we will notify you no later than Thurs 3rd September whether you have a space or have been placed on the waiting list. Please save the date in your calendar until then.
If you require any further information about this event, please contact: Janice.Stevenson@lgbtyouth.org.uk
