Leave a gift in your will
Leaving a gift in your will doesn't have to be expensive or complicated. Many people leave a gift to a charity they have supported through their lifetime, or one that has had a personal impact on them, or a member of their family.
There are three main ways you can leave a gift in your will:
- Leave the remainder, or a percentage of the remainder of your estate to LGBT Youth Scotland after all your other gifts have been made
- Leave a fixed amount of money of your choosing
- Leave an item such as property, shares or even jewellery
It's advisable to speak to a solicitor when writing your will to ensure that it has the intended effect. If you already have a will your solicitor will be able to make amendments through a written. signed and witnessed addendum called a codicil.
Leaving a gift in your will is a very personal decision and you are under no obligation to tell us about your gift...however, if you feel able to we'd love to keep you up to date with our work so that you're safe in the knowledge that your gift will have a lasting impact.
