Parents, carers and families
LGBT Youth Scotland works in partnership with Parents Enquiry Scotland. Parents Enquiry Scotland has existed for over 30 years now, and offers support to parents, carers and families and their gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender young people. Parents Enquiry Scotland provide confidential help lines which are operated by parents. They are not counsellors but have been through the experience of learning to understand and support their own gay children. They are also able to meet with you individually, or with groups. They are able to provide speakers to talk to interested organisations and they are able to provide information on a whole range of resources.
Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (FFLAG) is a UK-wide voluntary organisation with more than 40 telephone helplines and parents' groups which hold regular meetings across the UK. FFLAG is dedicated to supporting parents and carers and their gay, lesbian and bisexual young people. They offer support to local parents groups and contacts in their efforts to help parents, carers and families understand, accept and support their lesbian gay and bisexual members with love and pride.
