There is a clear expectation in Scotland that all schools are safe, inclusive and respectful places for all learners including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex.
Each and every school is different and will have different needs, policies and practices to ensure they meet national expectations, however, there are key areas around which best practice has been established. LGBT Youth Scotland have worked with schools, teachers, local authority officers, youth workers and LGBTI young people to create guidance documents which pull together best practice, answer questions and are designed to make it easier for schools and teachers to be LGBTI-inclusive.
Our Resources section contains all of LGBT Youth Scotland’s resources. To quickly find relevant documents, you can use the filtering options at the top of the page to filter by Type -> Schools.
