Taking on the Kiltwalk to change lives

With less than four weeks to go until the final Kiltwalk event this year, we would like to thank all those who have already walked the many miles in support of our work. We rely on the support of individuals to keep our vital youth work services running so we are delighted for every single Kiltwalker who took on the challenge to raise funds for LGBT Youth Scotland.

The Kiltwalk not only provides plenty of fun in a spectacular atmosphere and a back drop of some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery, it also offers an amazing opportunity for fundraising. Whatever you raise will be topped by an extra 40%* donation by the Hunter Foundation. So, 140% of all your fundraising goes to support our life-changing work with LGBTI young people across Scotland.

Nicola who completed the Glasgow Kiltwalk with her friends earlier this year told us:

"Taking part in the Kiltwalk was an amazing experience, you feel part of something big as there are so many people joining together to raise funds for charity. It's so much fun and you really feel like you've achieved something amazing at the end. You also get to meet so many people along the way and chat about why they are doing it. It was tough and a real challenge, but it is 23 miles afterall! But keeping in mind the reason I was doing it really helped get me through every mile. Knowing how vital the services that LGBT Youth Scotland deliver are and what a difference the support makes to LGBTI young people really helped us cross the finish line.”

On Sunday, 15th September the last of four Kiltwalk events in 2019 will take place in Edinburgh. There is still time to join –  if you’re adventurous and don’t mind signing up on a whim, you can register here: thekiltwalk.co.uk/events

We are grateful for all the support we have received already and hope to continue to build our Kiltwalk community next year. So if you've missed out on this year's Kiltwalking fun, stay tuned and join us at the Kiltwalk in 2020.
