Team of 3 take on Tour de Lauder to raise funds

On 27th April the “Three Amigos” Luci Jones, Susan Carter and our very own Fundraising Assistant Doro Weber blew the cobwebs of their bikes to take on the lung-busting Tour de Lauder in support of our work.

The three friends told us they used to ride their bikes together all the time, but in recent times didn’t have much opportunity to do so. Taking on 55 miles with 3535 ft of ascent was a true challenge considering the lack of training!

Doing this for LGBT Youth Scotland and knowing the difference it will make to LGBTI young people across Scotland really helped getting us round the undulating route and up and over many hills!”, Susan commented after crossing the finish line.

The three amigos did an amazing job not only at riding their bikes and completing the Tour de Lauder but fundraising a fantastic £421 in support of our work.

Doro said on completing her ride: “Getting your legs spinning and heart pumping to help make Scotland the best place to grow up for LGBTI young people was absolutely brilliant! What an amazing feeling as we crossed the finish line knowing we did it and also considering the impact we have helped made. I’d encourage anyone to find a challenge and do it for LGBT Youth Scotland, because there is still more work to be done!.
