Every year, on the last Friday of February (LGBT History Month) we celebrate Purple Friday: LGBT Youth Scotland’s annual fundraising day, and a day to show support for LGBT equality.
And it just wouldn't be Purple Friday without a beautiful cross-party celebration of LGBT young people in Scotland!
In previous years we’ve ventured to those iconic steps in the Scottish Parliament for a big, purple, cross-party photoshoot.
But we think our socially distanced version might just be even better – because you get to hear from the party leaders themselves in these video messages on why they’re supporting Purple Friday.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon
Douglas Ross, Scottish Conservative Party leader
Anas Sarwar, Scottish Labour leader
Lorna Slater, Scottish Green Party co-leader
Patrick Harvie, Scottish Green Party co-leader
Alex Cole-Hamilton, Scottish Liberal Democrats leader
And last, but by no means least, we have a message from one of our newly elected Members of the Scottish Youth Parliament...
Fin Buchan MSYP
Purple Friday is ALL about young people like Fin, who we work with in our youth groups, one-to-one support, and national projects which empower them to have their voices heard on issues that matter to them.
