Drop-in Clinic for Trans & Non-Binary People

A safe, drop-in sexual health clinic run especially for trans and non-binary people offering testing, information, and support in a welcoming, non-judgmental space. The clinic is run in partnership with Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, Waverley Care and LGBT Youth Scotland.

Who is it for?

This service is for trans and non-binary people aged 16+ who want confidential, affirming sexual health care. It’s a place created to reduce barriers, so you don’t have to feel awkward or misunderstood when talking about your body, identity, or relationships.

What happens at the clinic?

  • Testing for asymptomatic STIs (sexually transmitted infections; asymptomatic means you don’t have any symptoms or anything that it makes seem like you have an infection). This type of testing is helpful for preventing the spread of STI’s and it is recommended people do this each time you have sex with someone new and around every 3 months if you have multiple sexual partners.
  • PrEP (a medication that can protect you from HIV when taken before sex)
  • Contraception (please note, this will not include IUDs (intrauterine devices or systems
  • Cervical screening

The clinic does not provide gender-affirming medical care (e.g. hormones or surgical referrals) through this clinic OR symptomatic STI testing (i.e. you have symptoms of an STI
