LGBTYS BOARD 03

Why do you want to make Scotland the best place for LGBTQ+ young people to flourish and thrive?

All LGBTQ+ young people should feel safe and accepted in all areas of their lives and we should be ambitious in aiming for the best for them.

What is your experience?

I’ve worked in the charity sector for 15 years. I started in youth work then went on to work in fundraising and now in volunteer management. I’ve worked and volunteered for a few different LGBTQ organisations, including training and supporting services to be more inclusive of LGBTQ people.

What do you do for fun?

When I’m not working, I spend time walking, cycling and generally being outdoors and active. When the weather doesn’t allow me to be outside, I enjoy going to the cinema and baking bread.

What mattered most to you when you were a young person?

When I was a young person, having spaces where I felt safe and accepted was really important to me and that’s why I want to help make Scotland the best place for LGBTQ+ young people to thrive and flourish.
