Why do you want to make Scotland the best place for LGBTQ+ young people to flourish and thrive?
I’m convinced that every individual should be allowed to be who they truly are; supported and encouraged to become the best version of themselves that they hope to be. I wish that he had had access to a similar organisation to LGBTQ+ Youth when growing up and feeling isolated.
What is your experience?
I am a priest of the Scottish Episcopal Church and Rector of a congregation in Edinburgh. Previous to my ordination I worked as a primary school teacher. I was part of the task group that paved the way for the General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church to enable all couples to be married in church. I also have a background in mentoring and training.
What do you do for fun?
My husband and I enjoy travelling in warmer climates, spending time with the people we love and being grandparents to six grandchildren. We live in Edinburgh with two cats. I enjoy cooking and I am a passionate gardener.
What mattered most to you when you were a young person?
What mattered the most to me when I was a young person was the opportunity to lose myself in the garden; an obsession that’s never left me.
